A Winter Whirlwind Sweeps Through Moncton

After warming up winters from coast to coast, Barbegazi is coming out of hibernation, ready to share its love for the cold season with the Moncton community.

For the very first time, the iconic winter festival is setting up in the Maritimes, bringing along a mix of action sports, music, and comforting winter treats to enjoy under a snowfall of fun.

A Free Event You Won’t Want to Miss

As part of PolarFest, the event will take place on February 13 and 14, 2026, at Downtown Place (150 Canada St.) from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Each evening, get ready to hold your breath as two freestyle snowmobile shows of 25 to 30 minutes light up the night sky. The Barbegazi athletes will perform breathtaking stunts in a dazzling dance of snow, sparks, and adrenaline.

A thrilling moment to share with friends and family alike.

PolarFest 2026: Winter at Its Best

Every year, PolarFest transforms Moncton into a giant winter playground. Ice sculptures, local markets, outdoor shows, and family activities fill the city with the contagious energy that makes the Maritimes so special.

For its 2026 edition, the festival promises even more excitement with Barbegazi joining the program, adding an extra spark of adrenaline and winter magic.

Meanwhile, Centennial Park will be buzzing from February 13 to 16, 2026, with something for everyone: skating along the Muskrat Skating Trail, snow tubing, cross-country skiing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowman contests, ice sculptures, and the spectacular Geomatrix Fire Show.

And to warm up between adventures, enjoy local favorites like lobster rolls, steaming fricot, and traditional poutine râpée, all to the sound of live music and DJ sets melting away the February chill.

PolarFest x Barbegazi is winter at its finest: snow, laughter, local flavors, and the perfect reason to get outside and celebrate the beauty of the season together.
